The 8th Annual Keystone State Gay Rodeo will be held on Saturday, October 5th, 2024 in Owego, New York. This Owego rodeo is held at Rainbow Rodeo Productions.

The event is a family-friendly, inclusive rodeo and country event that merges traditional rodeo favorites with some non-traditional fun and hilarious events all in a safe and inviting atmosphere where everyone feels welcome. Both men and women compete equally in all rodeo events and anyone ages 10 and over are welcome to compete.

In Flag Dogging, a 500-600 pound steer has a flag mounted on the top of it’s back. When the steer is released, a team of two riders must work together to get the flag off of the steers back in less than 90 seconds. The team with the fastest time wins!

Team penning is a western equestrian sport that evolved from the common ranch
work of separating cattle into pens for branding, doctoring, or transport. Today it is a
fast-paced event that gives a team of three riders on horseback 60 seconds to
separate three specifically identified cattle from a herd of 30, and put them into a 20′
x 24′ pen through a 10′ opening, at the opposite end of the arena.

Jackpot team penning is for all ages and all riding abilities. Each team will have two
tries to pen their selected cattle. Team sign-up takes place right before the event and
everyone picks their own teams. If you don’t have a team and want to try, there are
folks who will team up with you. The cost is $75 per team and there will be a 50
percent payback of total entries. Payout will be based on the number of teams signed
up. Everyone is welcome!
