The San Antonio Rodeo Qualifier will be held on Monday, January 8th – Saturday, January 13th, 2024 in Uvalde, Texas. This Uvalde rodeo is held at Uvalde County Fairplex and hosted by Hi Lo Pro Rodeo.

Ground Rules: This is a qualifying rodeo for the 2024 San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo in the barrels. Open to all 2024 card holding members and permit holders who have not already qualified for the 2024 San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo through the following qualifications: Top (4) contestants from 2024 WPRA Pro Rodeo Standings based on winnings seven days prior to those entries closing (excluding money won at any 2023 Circuit Finals), top thirty-two (32) from 2023 Pro Rodeo Standings. Top four (4) from the 2023 WPRA Tour standings are not eligible to enter the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Qualifier. If a contestant ’s actions are deemed detrimental to the WPRA and/or the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, or rodeo in general, that contestant will not be accepted as an entry at San Antonio in 2024. Format: One Go-Round plus a Top 20 Progressive round. The top 20 based on fastest times from the first Go-Round will advance to the qualifying rodeo performances on Friday, January 12th and Saturday, January 13th, 2024, at 7:00pm. If there are less than 20 contestants with qualified times, the remaining positions in the two qualifying performances (not to exceed 20) will be filled based on 2023 money won. If there is a tie, the tie will be broken based on the contestant with the highest ranking in the 2023 money won qualifications will advance. The top 10 times on a 2-run average will be eligible to enter the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo in February and placed in the brackets, along with the 40 contestants already qualified. If a tie results in more than 10 to advance to the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, the contestant with the single fastest time in either go-round will advance. If still tied, ties will be broken based on 2023 money earned. The actual competition order will be drawn randomly. NOTIFY PROCOM - Following qualification, you must notify PROCOM of your intent to enter the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo by Monday, January 15th at 4:00pm MT. If any contestant, due to injury or any other reason chooses not to be accepted as an entry at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, the next highest ranked contestant from the Qualifier will be offered the position. There will be an extended grace period for the entries for San Antonio on Monday, January 15th, which is the first business day after the qualifier, from 8:30am-4:00pm MT for contestants to change preferences and buddy groups at San Antonio. The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Qualifier and the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo will each count as separate rodeos. All entries are official unless the contestant specifies otherwise at time of entry. No previous times will be carried forward. Must sign a release of liability with the secretary before competing in this rodeo. No dogs will be allowed on the grounds. All Contestants with Horses —In-state origin and out of state origin: All horses must have proof of current health papers issued within 30 days and a negative Coggins Test within the previous 12 months. Heath papers for any horse must not expire while horse is on grounds. All animals must be compliant with current Texas Anim al Health Commission rules and requirements which are subject to change. No exceptions. Unruly or unmanageable animals, including contestants’ horses that endanger personnel, contestants, spectators, or that disrupt the production of the rodeo may be disqualified by the judges from further use. Co ntestants must compete in all go-rounds in order to advance to the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Qualifier and the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo. Entry Fee: $296 ($250 + 21 Procom + $25 Grounds Fee). Enter only once. Payoff for San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Qualifier will be per the rule book. All Events —Money will be divided equally in case of splits and any odd pennies will be dropped. Tractor Drag at half for what it is set up for; 5 if set up for 10 and 6 if set up for 12 (Not Condensed). No timed event contestant is allowed in the arena at any other time than while competing. No exceptions. No children are allowed behind chutes, on chute level, or in the arena. This is to ensure the safety of contestants, rodeo personnel, stock and children themselves. Violations will result in immediate removal from the premise. No exceptions. Only rodeo contestants with a valid contestant number will be allowed behind the chutes and in the chute or arena area. To gain access to this area, contestants must be dressed according to WPRA rules and have their back numbers visible. No jackets, coats, vests, etc. may be worn covering back numbers while contestant is in the arena areas. Anyone caught w ith an invalid number (one not belonging to them) will have that number confiscated. Anyone giving their number or credential to someone else and/or the recipient of the number or credential will be turned into the PRCA Officials and subject to the 1-year ban. Only one contestant and one helper plus the chute help and TV or San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo staff will be allowed on the platform behind the bucking chutes. In accordance with PRCA by-law (B15.1.9), this is to notify that the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo will only admit contestants who are entered in the competition to facilities at no charge. PRCA members who are not entered will not be given free admission, nor may they enter any area restricted only to contestants without proper credentials.
