The 113th Annual California Rodeo Salinas will be held on Thursday, July 20th – Sunday, July 23rd, 2023 in Salinas, California. This Salinas rodeo is held at Salinas Sports Complex.
The California Rodeo Salinas will take place July 20th-23rd, 2023 with two night and two day performances.
The California Rodeo Salinas is one of the top 10 professional rodeos in the US out of over 600 and the largest rodeo in California. With over 110 years of tradition and a little bit of something for everyone, it's an event you don't want to miss.
Not only are the top cowboys and cowgirls featured in the arena and on the track, but there is food, shopping, saloons and more. The whole family will enjoy this affordable community event.

Stalls: Yes. $100/week. A limited number of outside pens are available for rent. No advance reservations. First come, first served. No portable pens allowed on Rodeo grounds unless permanent pens are unavailable. If portable pens are allowed by the barn office, they must be metal panels. No electric fences. No tying horses overnight to trailers or trucks. Off-site overnight parking will be available.

Ground Rules: Trade Deadline: July 13 5:00pm MT. Limited to 120. Qualifications: 30 from the 2022 Pro Rodeo World Standings, 48 from the 2023 Pro Rodeo World Standings based on seven days prior to entries closing, 4 from the 2022 WPRA Tour Standings (not to drop below the 20th place in the WPRA Tour Standings - any positions from below 20th place in the WPRA Tour Standings will be reallocated to the 2023 Pro Rodeo World Standings based on seven days prior to entries closing), 14 from the 2022 Pro Rodeo California Circuit Standings, 24 from the 2023 Pro Rodeo California Circuit Standings based on seven days prior to entries closing. The "30-hour replacement policy" will be in effect.Three Rounds + Finals. If a contestant who qualifies for the finals notifies a turn-out, doctor ’s release or visible injury release through PROCOM, the contestant with the next highest ranking in the average may be placed in that available position. (non-qualified TO’s and VIR’s after the turn out deadline will not be replaced). If the next highest ranked contestant is not available to accept the position, the next highest ranked contestant may be contacted and placed in that position. This procedure will be followed until all positions are filled. The replacement contestants competition order will be based on her ranking in the average (not on the ranking of the contestant she is replacing). Secretary’s office will be open from 12 (NOON) to 4 PM on Wed., July 19. Contestant parking will be available starting Monday, July 17 at 8 AM. No early entry. Must sign a release of liability with the secretary before participating. All horses must be in compliance with current Calif ornia Department of Food and Agriculture rules and requirements. Contestants who fail to comply with applicable animal health rules and regulations will be denied entry to the grounds or subject to removal from the grounds. Arena will be closed to competitors on Tuesday and Wednesday. Should a conte stant have a conflict between the arena and track for their breakaway and barrel racing runs, contestant will compete where drawn in the barrel race. She will have the opportunity to run her calf immediately following the first round of tie down roping. Contestant must notify rodeo secretary of the conflict and request the hold no later than one hour prior to the beginning of the earliest slack. Tractor drag after 6 (Condensed). All notified turn outs and Releases from each performance and slack will be taken out of the draw after the turn out deadline. Positions will move up and be posted at the rodeo office before the rodeo begins. I.E. If you are number 9 and there are 2 releases prior to you, you will be draw number 7. Committee will drag at 6 or fewer. **any notified turnouts who do reverse their turnout will run at the end of their performance/slack with no additional dragging for them.
